Daily Hankes Mischief

Lifestyle & Mommy Blog

He is risen!!

Saturday we spent the day over at my twin sister and her husbands house, as we usually do most weekends. I had a session that evening, and afterward we all had a late dinner, died eggs, ate cookies, and had wine! -Okay, I had wine.  Sunday, Matt and I taught a very early 8am Sunday school class, attended the 9:30a church service, and then we all went over to my sisters house where she hosted this years family Easter lunch and egg hunt for the kiddos. There's really nothing more I love than spending time with family on the holidays. What a sense of fullness it puts into my heart and soul. After everyone left we stayed a while longer. I nursed a sweet babe to sleep snuggled into my sisters pregnancy pillow (who doesn't love one of those!), and the grown up's snuggled into the couch and watched a movie. Samantha and I somehow convinced our husbands to heat us up leftovers while we didn't move a muscle ;) I hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend as much as we did!

(My twin sister & her soon to be husband)

F R I D A Y: Matt had off of work so we were happy to start a three day weekend as a family. We hung out at the pool for the first part of the day, went fishing at the river, took the kids to the park and Jax to the dog park, had a delicious dinner at a local hangout and restaurant also located on the river, and came home to relax and watch a bit of SOA after the kids went off to bed.

S A T U R D A Y: We woke up early to pack the car and head to the beach for the day. We set up Kan Jam, buckets & shovels, lathered on lotion, and became the beach bums all Floridians should be. Straight from the beach we checked out Playalinda Brewery, to taste their newest beer and eat hotdogs with good people. And of course, we did want any American would do to celebrate the freedom of this country; BBQ and fireworks.

S U N D A Y: Was spent recuperating, staining wood for some wedding projects of my twin sisters, and snuggling up real close to my sweet husband as we drifted off to sleep. I love weekends like that. Happy birthday 'Merica.

^^ The best capture of the week! ^^

^^ Even on vacation, sometimes attitudes happen. ^^

^^ Missing a couple people in the family photo. ^^

Fathers day week/weekend we spent some time in the beautiful mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia with my in-laws. We don't vacation much, but when we do we appreciate every bit of it! I got to wake up every morning and sit on the back porch with a hot cup of coffee, listening to the birds sing, breathing in the crisp mountain air, and watching the kids play. We hiked to a gorgeous (and freezing) waterfall, spent an afternoon in town looking in all the old shops and having lunch at a new place, had smores in the backyard of our cabin, shot BB guns, tubed down the river while Silas slept on me the whole time, made crafts, played games after the kids went to bed, and best of all spent a lot of time laughing with family. It's always a good time with the Hankes'.
