The long awaited for Hawaii trip blogpost! If you don't know, my incredibly awesome husband secretly planned a trip for me to Hawaii to visit my sister ALONE! He got a sitter for the kids one night and took me out to dinner and surprised me with a gift bag and a card. I'll insert the video below

I was in complete shock. I seriously have the most amazing husband on this planet. He planned out all the sitter situations with the boys while he was at work so that I didn't have to stress about it, and he sent me in my merry way.

I was extremely nervous about flying by myself, because I had only flown one other time before this and it was with Matt. I was afraid I was going to get lost in the airport. But, just as Matt assured me, I made it to my flight just fine and on time. My first flight was almost 5 hours and a layover in Phoenix, and from Phoenix to Honolulu it was about 6ish. (I can't remember- pregnancy brain). My beautiful sister greeted me with REAL flowered leis that were not closed, because apparently it's bad luck for a pregnant women to wear closed leis.

I'm not going to go through every detail of this trip, because the pictures I will show will tell you just how fantastic this trip was. And even then, pictures do not do it justice! Hawaii is a real life paradise. And that is not an exaggeration in any way, shape, or form! The fact that my sister gets to live in this amazing place is beyond me. And, more than that, I was just incredibly happy to spend the time much needed with my sister. It is so hard being away from each other, and I miss her and my nieces an insane amount.

I got to wake up every morning to coffee and waffles with my girls, snorkel with gorgeous sea turtles on a secret beach, walk the lagoons, hike to a waterfall at a location where Lost was filmed (if you know me, you know I had slight obsession with Lost), ate amazing food, tried shave ice for the first time, witnessed my first Hawaiian sunset, which by the way is unreal! Had a girls day kid-free with just my sister where we took the scenic route to the beach and my sister tried to kill me by making me sit in a tube in the ocean, had a delicious lunch, and shopped till we dropped. Went to a kid friendly yoga class and it made me wish we had something like that in my home town because it was awesome! I bought myself a pair of $40 flip flops I cringed as I checked out, but my sister swore on them and my feet were killing me. If you know me, again, you would know I'm not keen on buying things for myself. I am the person that picks things up and puts them back before I reach the register because I'm super cheapo when it comes to myself. So spending 40 freaking dollars on a pair of sandals literally almost killed me. But, my sister was more than right. These sandals are yoga mats on my feet and I have worn them every single day since I've purchased them. My prego feet are thanking me and I've definitely got my money's worth out of them. So, if you are looking for a pair of amazingly comfy sandals that are not less that fashionable I highly recommend Sunuk's Yoga Slings. You won't regret it!

This trip was one for the books. I will never forget how paradise feels and looks, and what's better is that I got to experience it with my sister. I can't thank my husband enough for sending me on this unforgettable trip, something I am so undeserving of. I can't wait to go back and bring my sweety with me one day. Check out the video below to get a sliver of my trip to Hawaii!

Starting weight: 110lbs
Weight now: 119lbs
Total weight gain: 9lbs

How far along? 22 weeks

Baby stats: Baby is the size of an ear of corn! About a foot tall and 1 pound.

Total weight gain: 9 pounds

Maternity clothes? Yes! Yesterday I tried to squeeze into a pair of my pre pregnancy shorts using the hair band trick and my belly band… It only took me about 10 minutes before I couldn’t breathe, baby boy was kicking and punching where the top of the shorts came, and I was taking them off. Even some of my shirts are getting too snug.

Stretch marks? Still no new ones since my previous pregnancies.

Anything making you queasy or sick? My prenatals make me a bit yucky feeling in the tummy, but I take them when I go to bed so it doesn’t affect me much. Other than that, I have pretty much been out of the queasy ballpark! Thank ya Jesus.

Sleep: It is getting uncomfortable to sleep. I feel like I’m constantly trying to find a position to stay comfortable in, so I should probably stop procrastinating and get a body pillow. (hint hint husband) I also still get up at least once a night to pee, old news.

Food cravings: Tacos. The whole time I was in Hawaii I just wanted tacos every single day.

Symptoms: I am still suffering from feeling faint. Some days are worse than others. Heartburn has picked up tremendously, I get at least 2-3 Braxton hicks a day whenever my bladder gets even slightly full, I notice if I’m on my feet all day they start to get a little fat, getting itchy dry patches on my belly on and off, still continuing to get acne, and my teeth have been super sensitive this past week.

Best moment this week: Well, since I took a bit of a break from updates I will have to say for the past 2 weeks. My husband sent me on a trip to Hawaii at 20 weeks to visit my sister. Literally paradise. At 21 and 22 weeks I have felt baby boy move from the outside so much, and it really makes my heart happy.

Miss anything? Beer and wine. I’ll just leave it at that. Also, laying on my belly. I was never a belly sleeper, but sometimes I liked to just lay on my belly and stretch out, and I find myself starting to miss that.

Movement? Oh yeah! He’s quite the active one in there, and I love being able to see and feel him from the outside now.

Gender: Baby Boy!

Labor Signs: We will get to this around 36 weeks.

Belly Button in or out? Out

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: My mood as been particularly happy. I still have moments of no-reason-sadness but that just comes with the job I guess.

Looking forward to: Our vacation to Connecticut in two weeks! Also all the activities to come with summer.

I have plenty of blog posts to come! Between going to Hawaii and trying to get adjusted being back, I decided to take a tiny break. I have my Hawaii trip to be shared, weekly bump dates from now on, baby buys, Connecticut trip, etc. coming to you guys so stay tuned, and thank you again for following along my little families journey!

Starting weight: 110lbs
Weight now: 109lbs
Total weight gain: -1lbs

Next Ultrasound: 15 weeks
Heart rate at last appointment: 174bpm

How far along? 14 weeks

Baby stats: Baby is the size of a lemon. 3 inches long and about 1.5oz.

Total weight gain: Gained 1lbs since week 12, but still not past my pre-pregnancy weight.

Maternity clothes? Yes! I still wear some of my normal pants, but they no longer button, so my belly band is apart of everyday wear unless I’m wearing maternity jeans.

Stretch marks? Still no new ones since my previous pregnancies.

Anything making you queasy or sick? I can finally, FINALLY say I am on the mend! I only throw up maybe once a week, and it’s usually if I waited too long to eat. Still not a fan of fish or chicken much, or their smells, but pickers can’t be chooser’s right?

Sleep: Seem to be tossing and turning a lot more lately, like I can’t get comfortable, and the nighttime heartburn has made a nice home in my chest. But, I am not getting up as much to use the restroom so that is a plus!

Food cravings: Nothing new this week, although I did get to satisfy a sushi craving last week. (don’t worry it was not raw)

Symptoms: Heartburn, ligament pain, still excessive spit in my mouth, STILL acne, and lot’s of sciatic pain.

Best moment this week: Today exactly I have been feeling tiny little flutters in the same exact spots every time I relax on the couch! I thought I was feeling them last night but wasn’t sure, until I got the same ones today and more often. I can’t believe this moment is already making it’s appearance.

Miss anything? I still miss wine. And beer. And mojitos. A lot. Sigh

Movement? Little baby flutters!

Gender: It’s a SURPRISE!

Labor Signs: We will get to this around 36 weeks.

Belly Button in or out? Still in the middle, though slowly but surely turning into an outty.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: This has been a bit up and down the past week. Sadness comes at the most random times, and for no reason at all. Oh hormones..

Looking forward to: My 15 week appointment and my 4 year anniversary this month with my wonderful hubby!

My sister is getting married in just a few weeks. I had the pleasure of hosting her shower-- you know, matron of honor duties, and all. I made all the decorations, and food/drink bars myself, with the help of Pinterest and my big sister of course. Here are some bits and pieces of what the day looked like.

Mimosa Bar

Brunch Table

Drink/Favors Bar

Games + Gifts

We played a "newlyweds" game, where we recorded Stephen answering some questions and giving Sam a sweet message at the end. Samantha had to try and answer the questions the same as Stephen, and after she was finished we all watched the video.

We hope you enjoyed your special day celebrating you becoming Mrs. Hart. Your big day is coming soon.

,xoxo
